Silicon Valley- African-American Cultural Center project, official Kickoff
The saying goes, "If you want to locate the African-American Community in Santa Clara county, simply
go to church on Sunday". With that in mind the African-American Cultural Center (AACC) project recently
sponsored the South Bay Christian Ministers Union Prayer Breakfast held at the Lagos Church in San Jose
California. The South Bay Christians Ministers Union represents over 35 prominent churches in the greater
south bay. The AACC made a presentation of the AACC project to the Ministers and others present at the
over capacity prayer breakfast. The response to the presentation was overwhelming. Many of the Ministers
and Pastors present expressed a commitment to the project and a desire to work hands on towards the projects
success.
The culmination of the presentation was a show of support for the project by the South Bay Christians
Ministers Union for the project’s success through a "prayer" and "blessing" led by Rev. Reginald Swilley
of Maranatha Christian Center. This event was the “official” kickoff of the Silicon Valley- African-American
Cultural Center project, only one of many to come.
